What Ever Happened to Cadsuane Melaidhrin?
A reader asked what has been happening in the life of Cairhienin socialite, Cadsuane Melaidhrin, in the nearly a year hiatus of our news reports. As it turns out Melaidhrin recently sent off her second daughter, Tamsin, to the university. There are also reports that she has allegedly left Tamsin with the Melaidhrin manor and all the estate’s funds, sans a paltry sum for her first born, Caitlin.
After much digging and prodding the Cairhienin Police Department and District Attorney have both acknowledge that no charges or arrests are expected in the mysterious drowning death of Tamsin’s father, Leo, or in the burning death of the Count. Leo, as you may recall, was Melaidhrin’s gardener turned lover who meet with an unfortunate end in Melaidhrin’s own pool. The Count died after being in the sun for an extended period, something that neighbors found strange being that most vampires avoid daylight. No one can explain why he was living with Melaidhrin in the first place. Melaidhrin herself has been silent about the incidents.
Today Melaidhrin is single and living alone and seems to be holding the fort until her youngest daughter returns from college.
A Sad Day
This past week an unfortunate accident occurred. Armando al’Thor, his wife Kimberly, and their young son Aaron, all perished in a freak drowning accident. The baby Allen was promptly taken into social services custidy.
The Cairhienin Police Department released a vague statement about their investigation: Revealing little about whether they suspect foul play or not.
Strange Happenings
In a strange twist the formerly dead Rand al’Thor is once again living. He was brought back to life just in time to see the birth of his eleventh grandchild, Tina Foregate. He was also in time to see the untimely death of Elayne al’Thor(no relation). No one seems to be blaming Rand for her death, except for Elayne’s ghost perhaps.
And in a scene straight out off of a soap opera Siuan Sanche gave birth to son Ewin; her second child with Kevin al’Thor. The couple all ready have an older son named Perrin. As you may recall, Kevin is Rand al’Thor’s eldest, his son with the late Elayne. He is also married to an alien named Elayne which raises awkward questions about his sex life. Siuan is still happily married to her husband Alric, who not only takes a part in his and Siuan’s sons’ lives (Huan and Logain), but also helps with his ill-gotten stepsons.
Population Boom!
Sim City scientists are puzzled by the recent baby boom in Cairhien. This past week both Susan Damodred and Siuan Sanche gave birth to baby boys; and in Damodred’s case two boys at once! Both woman all ready had young sons at home. Which has lead scientists to another question: Why are all the babies boys?
In addition to the small bundles of joy, Cairhien has new tax paying adults living on its streets. Asmodean Forsaken enjoys adding to his clown-in-a-box collection; Rahvin Forsaken enjoys walking around the neighborhood being admired; Marie Sedai can be seen wandering around looking for a sperm donor; Semi Sedai stays hidden for the most part, and the last time anyone saw Mesaana Sedai she was covered in blood. Lanfear Sedai can be seen pretty much anywhere a newspaper may be stolen.
Getting a “Leg-up” in Life
Three cheers for Susan Damodred! Susan was the first Sim in Cairhien to be enrolled into Eton Academy. The prestigious all girls school teaches classes in French, and offers courses in a plethora of foreign languages, including Urdu, Greek, Japanese, and Latin. Susan’s father, Thom, is busy getting his son, Patrick, accepted into Cross Academy: the all boys version of Eton.
Susan is now attending classes at the university, and although she has yet to decide on a major she expects to graduate with a 4.0 GPA.
“Well I am a Damodred.”
When asked if there was any truth to the rumors that her parents had arranged for her to marry an al’Thor boy, she gave no comment.
How to Succeed at Failing
Yesterday there was tears of happiness at Université de Cairhien, as well as the old fashioned ones. Caitlin Melaidhrin – daughter of Rand al’Thor and Cadsuane Melaidhrin – graduated with a 3.9 GPA. She promptly moved back to Cairhien with fiancé Owyn Damodred.
Elayne al’Meara, however, was expelled from the university. Sources claim this was due in part to the hardships of her upbringing, specifically, her lack of knowledge about her birth-mother. Clay al’Meara wasn’t very forthcoming about where his daughter’s mother was, except to say “in space”.
Elayne isn’t all sorrow though. She did marry her longtime sweetheart Kevin al’Thor. al’Thor himself dropped out of college, and was very understanding to his wife’s situation. The two are now proud parents of a baby girl named Tigraine.
Saved from Death!
Cairhien’s newest couple, Siuan and Alric Sanche, experienced a close call this evening. Siuan, who was in her last trimester, was, quite frankly, starving. Straving to death. The Grim Reaper paid a visit, but luckly Alric was able to plead for his loved one’s life. Siuan went on to eat five plates of pasta and give birth to a son, Huan.
It is to be noted the Grim Reaper was last seen headed northward to the al’Thor compound.
Death in Cairhien
Tam al’Meara died last night. A giant swarm of flies attacked him and reduced him to so much rubish. Rubish, that Nynaeve al’Meara (no relation) quickly swept up and threw away. Clay al’Meara (no relation), who was perhaps Tam’s only friend, was deeply affected by Tam’s passing. He left behind a fiancé, who’s name may or may not be Ken. Tam’s death is an important piece of news for citizens of Cairhien; he is the first Sim to die.
A new birth! Again.
Rand al’Thor and Dena Foregate welcomed a new baby boy into their family this week. Paul al’Thor is Rand’s sixth and Dena’s first. When asked why he had six children by five different women, al’Thor’s response was, “I was made to spread my seed”.
Paul shares his birthday with his father, his brother, and his father’s former lovers Avi and Elayne al’Thor (now married).
Ah…the legacy
Mark Waldorf was a cute Sim with red hair and elf ears. A Sim with a passion for knowledge, he quickly fell in love with Trista Shaw; a Sim with a passion for romance. Adultry aside, it was a happy marriage. The couple had one child (to the great relief of Trista), named Matt. Matt was a cute kid and teenage boy, but when he grew into an adult, Trista’s large, bird like nose was planted on his face. It is rumored Mark was horrified.
Despite his ugly nose, Matt married an attractive young Sim named Renee. Renee also happened to be a former lover of his mother’s. At any rate, the two were very much in love and had a daughter named Mary. Unfortunatly, Mary inherited her grandmother’s hideous nose, and Mark’s elf ears didn’t distract anyone from it.
Mary married a downtown hotshot named Aiden; she hoped he would be able to overwrite Trista’s nose-genes. Mavrick, however, only came out uglier than any before him. His vampire wife doesn’t seem to mind, and the town hopes their child will be a beauty.
Others think this hope is in vain.
